Is It Bad If You Don't Pass the NCLEX in 75 Questions?
There is a toxic stigma around the number of questions you complete on the NCLEX and the determination of how well you did on the exam. There are some people that brag about how if you pass in 75 questions you were just that amazing. There is also a stigma that if you take the exam in 145 questions, you barely passed or probably failed. The reason for this is social media pushing "how to pass in 75 questions". This might insinuate the idea that if you didn't pass in 75 questions and you needed more, you weren't that great or did not perform well enough on the NCLEX. The reality is, that the exam is pass or fail. Everyone gets different questions that pertain to them. Someone can fail in 75 questions or pass With 145 questions it does not matter.
What does it mean if I got 75 questions on the NCLEX?
No one other than the Pearson exam knows that answer. Did you feel good about those 75 questions? Did you come out crying like the rest of us? The amount of questions you get on the NCLEX does not determine how good you were at passing. You can pass in 75 questions and you can also fail in 75 questions.
What does it mean if I got 145 questions on the NCLEX? Good or Bad?
No one other than the Pearson exam knows that answer. How good did you feel about the 145 questions? Did you come out crying like the rest of us? The amount of questions you get on the NCLEX does not determine how good you were at passing. Some people may need more questions than others. Not everyone gets the same topic. Sometimes it takes the full 145 questions to determine if you have passed.
What is a good sign of passing the NCLEX?
Honestly, I came out crying out of the NCLEX just like many people did. I passed just with those other people that came out crying. I have heard from a lot of people that if you feel like you genuinely failed it, you probably passed. I have also heard, that if you feel good about it, you probably also passed. Only you know if you did fail by guessing every single question and not knowing a single answer.
Try the Pearson trick at least 4 hours after your exam if you are that worried about the exam.
A good sign of passing the NCLEX is just simply seeing the pass results. I believe both statements of feeling good and crying your heart out are both signs of passing.
Passing the NCLEX
If you took 145 questions or 75 questions, passing is passing, and failing is failing. Passing in 75 does not make you a more knowledgeable nurse than the one who did 145 questions. The exam simply had to determine with 95% confidence whether or not you failed or passed within the number of questions they gave you.
A pass is a pass.
